Fleece and terry-cloth footed jammies especially.

Socks, socks, socks! With cuffs preferred, bigger than you think they should be. 12-to-24 month size for socks.

Spring and summer clothes in 12 to 18 month size, or whatever size in next up from 12 months in the store.

Megan has all of Tyler's old toys to play with. She already has a doll. She's really set!

She is very agile with fine motor skills and loves to put things into other things. Shape sorters--altho she's inherited two from Tyler, toys with balls that fit inside things or roll down chutes--tho she has a penguin ball plume already, toys that play music when you push certain buttons or sing or talk.

Things she can chew, too, that's pretty big as she's teething right now.

Hats she can put on and take off, she's into that lately. Scarves she can grab and pull over her head and walk around with. She loves to do that with whatever she can find in the clean laundry baskets. Pop necklaces she can manipulate and wear around her shoulders too might be fun for her.

Mom-Mom's Wish List for Tyler

Not that this blog gets used much, but here is a general list of Tyler's current "hot" interests in case you need help in getting him something.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: undefinedpx; height: undefinedpx;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SV6P_mc7upI/AAAAAAAAARo/TeU9acJU8Fo/s320/ThomasTrackmasterLogo1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286821335395973778" /> <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: undefinedpx; height: undefinedpx;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SV6Qr2L5WYI/AAAAAAAAARw/e9kQ0RmZqjo/s320/2336097403_6067f34e9e.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286822095533726082" />

Thomas the Tank Engine
(TrackMaster brand)

Tyler is most excited about this right now. It is hot hot hot! The set he has is called "TrackMaster", NOT "TakeAlong" and NOT "Wooden Railway"--if it doesn't say "Trackmaster" then it's not the right kind. It's plastic, with tan tracks, and will say "motorized." It is readily available at Target and Toys R Us. Target has quite a bit that is labeled "a Target exclusive," so I recommend shopping there. He spends hours designing and redesigning his track. The trains all have names and personalities, and some have remote controls, most are battery powered.

Here's what Tyler has so far:
Thomas
Thomas with remote control
Whif
Salty
Duck
Diesel 10
Cranky at the docks with the boat Bolstrode
the hay bailer
the train wash
mountain o track
the mine tunnel

He could use a bridge.
He has very little of the connecting roadway, and none of the related cars or trucks. I recommend the Bertie bus and a train crossing that fits in with the track.
The Sodor Airport would probably excite him wildy!
He's actually asked for James, and they do have a remote control version. He also loves Percy.
It would be nice for him to have some female character trains...he talks a lot about Emily in particular.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SCx1RNW_vZI/AAAAAAAAAKY/4c2iEl60MIw/s320/cars.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5200660608210419090" />
* Anything from the Cars Disney-Pixar movie, like T-shirts, toys, toy bins, sheets, etc.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SCyYsNW_vjI/AAAAAAAAALo/B6153l7vkCg/s200/Cars1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5200699554973859378" />

Tyler is "collecting" the little match-box sized car characters. Here's a list of what he has so far:

Lightning McQueen--one regular and one with wheels over his eyes

Mater wind-up car
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SCyaL9W_vlI/AAAAAAAAAL4/ZlhtHG2Vs2M/s320/Ty+with+Doc.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5200701199946333778" />
Doc Hudson
Sherriff
Sally
Sally windup car
Luigi
Luigi windup version
Guido
one tractor
Red (the firetruck)
Tex
Ramone in purple
Ramone windup version
Fillmore
Dinoco helicopter
Chick Hicks
Mario Andretti
Stanley statue
Fred
Mack
Flo
DJ
Wingo
Snotrod
Boost.

He'd love to have The King and Sarge. Lizzie is a rare find. Or any race cars, like RPM, Darrell Cartrip, Leakless, or Junior (also red but #8). There's a Cars race track out there he'd die for, in a cool carrying case.

He has a handful of "Shake And Go" cars, Doc (pictured here with Tyler), Sherriff, Lightning, and Mater.

He has the Cars soundtrack which he asks to listen to over and over again.

Other things or subjects he's interested in are:

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SCyAxtW_vcI/AAAAAAAAAKw/yIYK3nH1W4I/s320/bobthebuilder.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5200673261184073154" />

* Bob the Builder
He has miniatures of Scoop and Muck
and a big Scoop
and several DVDs "If They Build It" and a couple winter themed ones

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: undefinedpx; height: undefinedpx;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SV6LhTQofqI/AAAAAAAAARg/rv8z2DmmeRE/s200/story.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286816416801521314" />
* Toy Story and Toy Story 2.
NOTE: Toy Story 3 is coming out in 2010--he'll be interested!

He has Woody and Buzz Lightyear and Jesse dolls. And he has the soundtracks and the movies. He has a mister potato head. A slinky dog would be fun.

* construction and emergency vehicles
(He really has enough of these already! But you can't go wrong.) He has two garbage trucks already, and several firetrucks. If you want to get something new, a police car that has a siren on it, or an ambulace, or a bucket truck would be very cool and much appreciated by Tyler!

* HotWheels or Matchbox cars

* anything Elmo, Big Bird, Zoe, Cookie Monster, and related Sesame Street stuff
(e-mail Mom-Mom to find out what he has)
Sesame Street books with more text

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SCyEodW_veI/AAAAAAAAALA/RRlaONTCkP4/s320/dolphin.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5200677500316794338" />

* dolphins and whales, sharks, and cool fish
(Doesn't have much of this stuff.)

* animal or zoo related stuff

* Wild Animal Baby shows and stuff (from the National Wildlife Federation)
He already gets the toddler magazine Wild Animal Baby
He has one DVD "Flying Whales and Other Stories"
others are easy to get off Amazon.com or nwf.org/kidzone

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SCyBwtW_vdI/AAAAAAAAAK4/NxAn0y0w630/s320/WildAnimalDVD.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5200674343515831762" />

* WALL-E
He likes the movie, and is very fond of the robots. I don't know what's out there, but I'm thinking that's a possibility.

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: undefinedpx; height: undefinedpx;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_AnnHaPfE7ng/SV6ZYfLH9LI/AAAAAAAAAR4/UZ5zZjEJZb0/s200/nemo_4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5286831658543609010" />
*Nemo
He likes the movie (which, by the way, he doesn't actually have yet), and this goes along with his love of water critters, fish, sharks, dolphins and the like. He has a plush Nemo doll and several Nemo books.

* Remote Control cars or critters

Tyler & Megan's Measurements for Clothing/Shoes

MEASUREMENTS:

TYLER:
Clothes in 3T size. Socks 3-4 years size at The Children's Place, our favorite sock style.

MEGAN:
Clothes in 12 months for current, 12 to 18 months for summer in '09.
Megan's socks are currently 12-24 month size. She has big feet like her brother.

(Here is Tyler at the Brookfield Zoo dolphin house, measuring up against a baby dolphin!)

The kids are really okay right now with clothes! We always run out of socks, for some reason. We love socks! Prefer those with cuffs. Super thick socks for winter are mysteriously hard to find, so those make great stocking stuffers! Ha ha!

We really really appreciate gift certificates to Stride Rite for shoes and The Children's Place for clothes and socks. We love their socks there.

We're trying to avoid gendered clothes to a certain degree, but Tyler loves cars and trucks on this clothes. Clothes that break the stereotype, such as pink/red/orange for Tyler that are not "girlish" are welcome, and Megan is heavenly is purple and baby blue. Elmo, Thomas, anything Cars theme or construction trucks or fire trucks on clothes are especially appreciated by Tyler!

Bibs always appreciated (Bumkins or Kushies for instance) in toddler size. soft cloth bibs for Megan.

Kissaluvs Super Soaker Doubler diaper liners. Plastic diaper cover/pants for 3T or 3 months sizes. Bumkins has fun patterned ones. Bummis has white. Gerber can be found in stores (bigger BRUs) in white.
Find all at
Thanks Mama.com

SHOES

Tyler's shoe size is 9.5 wide now and should be 10 this summer/fall '09.
